A Note From Our President
The last year and a half has been quite unusual - A worldwide
financial crisis and recession, the continuing challenges of Vista,
rumors of Windows 7, etc. I am pleased that we have weathered the
storm.
For Big Bang, 2009 has brought the release of version 4.0 of the
Universal Imaging Utility, which contains some exciting new
features our customers have requested. The biggest new feature is
the Discovery Tool, which allows you to scan a machine before a
Universal Image is deployed to it, and compare all the hardware
found to our online database of drivers and Plug-and-Play IDs. The
goal is to let you know in advance if a driver is missing so we can
remedy that before you deploy.
The other aspect of the Discovery Tool is that those scans can
be collected and used by the UIU to help create a smaller database
of drivers. Essentially, if each make/model in your environment is
scanned, UIU will only copy in the drivers necessary for your
specific machines, rather than the entire repository of
drivers.
As 2009 moves along, we have more UIU development plans in the
works, including several other customer suggestions and, for
release in December, version 4.5 with full support for Windows 7
and Mac Intel hardware for Boot-Camp. If you have ideas or
suggestions for where UIU should go next, please let us know.
As always, I am excited to see what the employees and customers
of Big Bang can come up with next, and despite the ongoing
challenges we all face in the IT world, I am really looking forward
to our continuing success in 2010.
Thank you,
Adam Murphy

Big Bang is…
Behind the direction of owner and president Adam Murphy is a
customer focused vision. The company seeks to make their unique
technology readily available to help IT/Support departments in the
Milwaukee area and around the world. To do this, Adam has hired an
eclectic group of individuals to bring their unique talents and
personalities together to create excellent products and to take
care of their valued customers.
The Big Bang office is quite unique. Adam's business philosophy
is one of talent driven production. Goals are determined and
expectations defined, then he provides the tools needed, places the
responsibility in the capable hands of each individual and leaves
it up to them to decide how best to get the work completed. This
philosophy promotes extremely efficient work, as those who work
best early in the morning are free to be in the office when it's
quiet (there are only three early-birds) and the rest can feel free
to determine how and when they will be able to work most
productively.
But just as important as focus on the work at hand,
personalities and individual interests are not only encouraged to
express themselves, but are a focus of the office culture. Whether
with finger dart wars, lunch-time Nintendo Wii tournaments,
collective griping about the Green Bay Packer's poor play, or
rounds of golf after work, the Big Bang office is always an
exciting place.
